Advanced materials are designed to give enhanced performance over conventional materials and are essential to our modern way of life. Advanced materials are crucial to innovation and industrial leadership in many sectors, including energy, electronics, transportation and healthcare.

New technologies like Artificial intelligence (AI) and Digital Twins can enable innovation, supporting the development, production and deployment of materials that are both safe and sustainable.

Drawing on recent work in the European Scientific Advice Mechanism, our expert panel will set out the opportunities of AI and other digital technologies in transforming innovation in Advanced Materials. We will discuss what is needed in terms of providing the necessary infrastructure, high-quality data, standards and governance.
