The sixth MARVEL Review and Retreat will take place on September 5-6, 2019. The event will gather all MARVEL members, group leaders as well as postdocs and students. On Thursday, all projects will be presented for evaluation by the MARVEL Scientific Advisory Board, with a poster session being held during lunch and in the evening. On Friday, the morning will be devoted to the presentation of the Open Science Platform and the HPC platform.

On Jul 25, MARVEL and CECAM are hosting the second lecture in the series "Classics in molecular and materials modeling" at EPFL.

In this THEOS-MARVEL seminar, Prof. Jennifer L. M. Rupp (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA) will address "lithionics" to store energy and compute data neuromorphically.

On July 8-10, 2019, the Summer School on Advanced Electronic Structure Methods in Condensed Matter Physics will take place at EPFL.

The 1-week camp entitled Des atomes aux ordinateurs, à la découverte de la programmation scientifique  is open to teenagers in the last two years of high-school, with no high-level in maths or physics prerequisite and no prior programming knowledge required. Half of the seats are reserved for young women.

The 18th NCCR MARVEL Distinguished Lecture will be given by Prof. Emily A. Carter, Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Princeton University on "Quantum Simulations of Sustainable Energy Materials".

Welcome to the 26th MARVEL Junior Seminar on Thursday June 13, 2019, 12:15 pm, EPFL, room MED 0 1418. Andrea Grisafi (COSMO, EPFL) and Alberto Fabrizio (LCMD, EPFL) will present their research. The seminar is chaired by Kun-Han Lin.

This 3.5-day tutorial is designed to get Master students, PhD students and Postdocs from the field of computational materials science started with writing reproducible workflows. Participants will be introduced to the state of the art in workflow management and high-throughput computations by experts in the field, and gain in-depth hands-on experience using a tool that they can directly apply to their own research.

Welcome to the 25th MARVEL Junior Seminar on Thursday May 9, 2019, 12:15 pm, EPFL, room MED 0 1418. Leopold Talirz and Aliaksandr Yakutovich (LSMO/THEOS, EPFL) will present updates on MARVEL's Open Science Platform. The seminar is chaired by Edgar Engel.

As first event of the CECAM/MARVEL Mary Ann Mansigh conversation series, Massimo Noro, Business Development Director, Science and Technology at STFC Daresbury, will talk about computer modeling for industrial applications sharing his experience at Unilever and at STFC Daresbury.
