This grant of two million euros, spread over five years, encourages investigator-driven frontier research in Europe through competitive funding across all fields, on the basis of scientific excellence.
The activity of the ERC is to provide attractive, long-term funding to support excellent investigators and their research teams to pursue ground- breaking, high-gain/high-risk research.
The ERC Consolidator Grants are awarded to researchers of any nationality and age, with at least seven years of experience after PhD, and a scientific track record showing great promise. The funding mostly covers the employment of researchers and other staff to consolidate the grantees' teams.
