Emiliana Fabbri receives SNSF PRIMA grant

A total of 132 women researchers had submitted a project proposal in response to the SNSF's third call, and 18 will receive the grant to fund their project. The research areas cover domains as varied as materials science, ecology, visual arts and art history, immunology, astronomy, history or psychology.

Emiliana Fabbri's project is entitled "Materials developments for energy storage through water electrolysis: advanced characterization methods and new design principles for oxide electrocatalysts."

The PRIMA funding scheme has been devised by the SNSF to promote excellent women researchers who show great potential for obtaining a professorship. The awardees get the chance to conduct an independent research project with their own team at a Swiss research institution.

The 18 researchers will each receive on average 1.4 million Swiss francs, covering their own salaries and the salaries of their team as well as other project costs during the 5-year funding period. Another advantage of PRIMA is that it allows grantees to take the funding with them should they become professors at a Swiss higher education institution during the funding period.
