Two new recipients of MARVEL fellowships

We are happy to announce that Maria Andolfatto (University of Milano-Bicocca) was granted an INSPIRE Potentials – MARVEL Master's Fellowship through a anticipated evaluation in September 2024. She will join the MARVEL lab of Nicola Marzari for a 6-month Master's project. On her side, Mitra Dowlatabadi is the first recipient of the new MARVEL INSPIRE visiting PhD fellowship. As a PhD student at the University of Trieste, under the supervision of Antimo Marrazzo, she will spend 6 months in the group of Nicola Marzari at EPFL for a fruitful collaboration — congratulations to both!

  • Mitra Dowlatabadi has joined the group of Nicola Marzari at EPFL in October 2024, for 3 months. She will come for a second 3-month stay end of 2025. She is a PhD student at the University of Trieste, under the supervision of Antimo Marrazzo, assistant professor at SISSA and former MARVEL member.

  • Maria Andolfatto from the University of Milano-Bicocca will join the group of Nicola Marzari at EPFL from November 2024 for 6 month for her Master's project. She will bring the number of the INSPIRE Potentials — MARVEL Master's fellowships to 54 since the 2016 launch of the initiative, which involves two calls per year.

The INSPIRE Potentials fellowships aim to empower excellent female students to conduct their Master's research project in simulation and modelling in a laboratory belonging to the NCCR MARVEL. They consist of a six-month 12'000 CHF fellowship (+ 500 CHF for travel + separate coverage of tuition fees and medical insurance (for non EU participants)).
