CCMX-MARVEL Materials Day 2017

Oct 05, 2017, from 9:45 until 17:00, Empa, Dübendorf

Current challenges in materials science: modeling or experimental approach? What can be expected from quantum mechanics modeling to accelerate R&D in industry?

CCMX, the Competence Centre for Materials Science and Technology, and the NCCR MARVEL are co-organizing a Materials Science Day where both experimental and modeling approaches will be addressed.

The morning will be dedicated to MARVEL projects including modeling and first experimental validation. During the afternoon, the progress of the 5 ongoing CCMX Materials Challenges will be presented. Participants from industry and academia are welcome to discover new projects, make new contacts and initiate collaborations.

The talks will give participants an excellent introduction to pre-competitive research going on throughout the country while the poster sessions, lunch and coffee breaks will give the chance to speak to researchers one-on-one.

We hope you will take advantage of this unique opportunity and join us!

Registration

It is possible to register half-day or full day, and have a lunch for networking and poster session. Participation is free of charge, but registration is mandatory. The registration deadline is Friday 29 September, 2017.

Poster session

If you would like to present a poster on your MARVEL research, please inform Pascale Van Landuyt as soon as possible.
The deadline for submitting a short abstract, with the title of the poster, the authors and their respective affiliations is Thursday 28 September, 2017.  The abstract will need to be sent by email to Carey Sargent (CCMX) and to Pascale Van Landuyt (MARVEL).
