The MARVEL Junior Seminars aim to intensify interactions between the MARVEL Junior scientists belonging to different research groups. The MARVEL Junior Seminar series is now held in videoconferencing mode. We are pleased to propose the 48th MARVEL Junior Seminar: Francesco Libbi (THEOS, EPFL) and Anna Hehn (University of Zurich) will present their research. The seminar will be chaired by Michele Kotiuga (EPFL).

"In order to achieve full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls, the United Nations General Assembly declared February 11 as the International day of Women and Girls in Science in 2015” (from the UN website). CECAM will mark this important occasion with a special afternoon dedicated to women who contributed to our field… and by proposing an unusual tool to encourage (also) young girls to consider a scientific path.

The 29th NCCR MARVEL Distinguished Lecture will be given by Prof. Sharon Glotzer, department chair of chemical engineering at the University of Michigan, entitled "A theory of entropic bonding".

This CECAM workshop is devoted to machine-actionable data interoperability for chemical sciences (MADICES): bridging experiments, simulations, and machine learning for spectral data. Developers, scientists, and data specialists will be brought together to discuss the hurdles and opportunities of data interoperability in the context of the chemical and materials sciences. We will strive for general technical recommendations, with X-ray absorption spectroscopy as the prototype use case.

The MARVEL Junior Seminar series is continuing in videoconferencing mode. We are therefore pleased to propose the 47th MARVEL Junior Seminar: Marta Brzezińska (C3MP, EPFL) and Lorenzo Monacelli (THEOS, EPFL) will present their research. The seminar will be chaired by Sara Fiore (ETHZ).

Rex Godby, Lucia Reining and Steven Louie will give a joint lecture in what will be the sixth event in the series "Classics in molecular and materials modelling" hosted by CECAM and MARVEL. Their joint lecture will address ab initio studies of electronic excitations using many-body perturbation theory.

The MARVEL Junior Seminar series is continuing in videoconferencing mode. We are therefore pleased to propose the 46th MARVEL Junior Seminar: Kevin Jablonka (EPFL) and Stepan Tsirkin (UZH) will present their research. The seminar will be chaired by Kristians Cernevics.

Athanassios Panagiotopoulos (Princeton University) and Dominic Tildesley (University of Southampton) will give a joint lecture in what will be the fifth event in the series "Classics in molecular and materials modelling" hosted by CECAM and MARVEL. Their joint lecture will address fluid phase equilibria by computer simulations.

The 28th NCCR MARVEL Distinguished Lecture will be given by Prof. Ingrid Mertig, professor of physics at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg on "Transversal transport coefficients and topological properties".

Serena Riniker (ETHZ), involved in MARVEL's Design and Discovery Project 1 with an  Agility Plus grant on "Improving the generation and sampling of crystal packings with machine learning", will be presenting an online seminar on machine learning in chemistry and beyond.

The 27th NCCR MARVEL Distinguished Lecture will be given by Prof. John Perdew, Professor of physics and chemistry at Temple University on "More-predictive density functionals, symmetry breaking, and strong correlation"
