We’re finding a rhythm, continuing to cope and showing an outstanding ability to adapt to the “new normal,” offering a number of virtual activities. We have taken a workshop in Wannier90 online, saving an estimated 30 tons of CO2 in the process, and Nicola Marzari hosted a hugely successful series of fireside chats on density functional theory.
MARVEL members are continuing the ground-breaking research they’ve always done — this month you can learn about work being done in Bill Curtin’s lab on identifying the origin of strength in high-entropy alloys. Take the time too to meet Tara Tošić, once an INSPIRE master’s student, now doing a PhD in the lab of Nicola Spaldin.
Be well and keep in touch. We look forward to seeing you again as soon as it is possible.
