The PASC18 Conference

Jul 02, 2018, 14:00 until Jul 04, 2018, 14:00, Congress Center, Basel

The Platform for Advanced Scientific Computing (PASC) Conference is an interdisciplinary conference in high performance computing organized by the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) that brings together domain science, applied mathematics and computer science - where computer science is focused on enabling the realization of scientific computation. PASC18, the fifth annual PASC Conference, is co-sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the PASC structuring project. It is held from July 2 to 4, 2018 at the Congress Center Basel in Basel, Switzerland.

The local host of PASC18 is the University of Basel, one of the 12 certified public universities in Switzerland coordinated by swissuniversities.

More information and full program.

Joost VandeVondele (CSCS) organizes session MS02 on Capability Computing, Performance Portability, and Co-Design in the PASC Projects, session in which Juerg Hutter (University of Zurich) gives a talk entitled "Implementing a Sparse Tensor Linear Algebra Library for Electronic Structure Calculations" on July 2, 14:00.

Stefan Goedecker (University of Basel) co-organizes session MS06 on Large Scale Electronic-Structure Calculations on Modern and Future High-Performance Supercomputers on July 2 and organizes session MS33 on Machine Learning Schemes with High Extrapolation Accuracy for Materials Discovery on July 3.

Other MARVEL members present some posters in the "Chemistry and Materials" session.
